How Much Are You Willing to Receive?

In a world where you can be anything are you grateful and willing to receive? Or are you operating from lack and scarcity?
When you watch small children laugh and play do you say I am having more of that? Or is there a heaviness, a sadness in your world, a sense of if only I was like that again or a pessimistic view... they will grow out of that pretty quick smart?
Rarely are our responses cognitive. However our behaviour, our actions indicate if we are functioning from abundance or scarcity. The other day a woman shared with me that she realised that in her entire life she had not stopped and rested. She said that when she had a lie down or relax in a comfy chair her mind was otherwise occupied. Her mind was fathoming the numerous tasks she felt compelled to do. Her mind (or business behaviour she was constantly engaged in) wasn't allowing her to stop and receive the beauty around her, to appreciate the sun warming her body, the birds chirping their happy song. She realised she had was not allowing her body to rest and recoup.
On the same day another woman shared that she saw an elderly man crossing a busy road. The man was clearly struggling to navigate the busy traffic. She stopped her car and traffic to assist him to safely get to the other side. A passing driver, yelled out profanities at them, called them idiots and worse.
The woman who assisted the elderly man's shared a message I value. Her point of view was... if I am so preoccupied with my life to notice and assist an elderly man or someone who is incapable of knowing they are in danger, I'm not present and I am missing life.
What about you? Where are you functioning from?
Are you missing opportunities to play, laugh, let in the lightness, receive the abundance that is everywhere? Do you have a cap on fun? Do you let yourself rest and recoup when you are tired? Are you kind or mean to yourself with time and money? This is an abundant World for some and a world of misery, lack and scarcity for others. What more can you receive?
What more joy and delight, care and kindness can you be to yourself and the World around you?
